The risk of dental damage is ever-present due to oral emergencies. Oral emergencies can occur at any time and cause severe all accidents and injuries to your teeth. However, even though they’re not always preventable, there are numerous things you can do immediately after receiving a normal emergency that can help ensure optimum recovery time.
Oral emergencies often arise if you have suffered from dental damage. If you have any chipped or broken teeth, it is important to minimize bleeding this includes applying add gloss to the area for roughly 10 minutes until bleeding stops. If the swelling begins to occur, you can apply a cold compress all the outside of your mouth.
If you have lost a dental filling, you will need to cover up the tooth with sugarless gum or an over the counter dental cement. If you have lost a dental crown, you can apply a cotton swab dabbed in clove oil over the extremely sensitive area. Be sure to visit your dentist immediately for a restoration and repair.
